Really interesting to learn about your process. And funny that I’ve written about cookbooks -from a different angle - in my newsletter this week. Cannot wait to get my hands in your joy or a book xxx

Your creative process is fascinating, and so different from that of any other cookbook author that I know. It goes a long way towards explaining why your books have such a distinctive look and feel, with each element contributing to a unified whole. Can’t wait to get the new book!

I recognize all your dedication in these words. Magical, and stressful: two faces of the same coin.

You and Bruno are a fabulous team, and indeed your books are the perfect representation of your joined skills and love.

And thank you for sharing the link to my post (how do you call a post on Substack? Post? article? letter?)

Am interested in the scope of the book. What years are most of the recipes from? Is there a list of contents available online to share with others?

It is baking from the heart of the Low countries connected to traditional feasts. You can have a look on my website here: https://regulaysewijn.com/dark-rye-and-honey-cake/ and Amazon co uk will show an extract soon too. I didn't want to go on about my book too much but maybe a more detailed post about the content is what people would like?

I, for one, would appreciate more information. It makes sharing info about the new book easier when I can "tease" others about the contents that might match their culinary interests.

Loved reading this, Regula. Your skillsets are so wide ranging and to have Bruno too for the illustrations really does make for the perfect package. I too put raw text straight into InDesign (never Word!) and enjoy starting to believe in a beautifully realised book from the beginning. That said, Mark Diacono's recent post about Scrivener has persuaded me to give that another trial run for my current project. I confess I've yet to catch up with the new book, but will put that right when next with time at Toppings book shop in Bath!

You're like me, you can't take the graphic designer out of the person! I'm interested to learn more about Scrivener and hope to see your new project soon!!
